Just a note to say that I am leaving today for the Cleveland Clinic for my valve replacement surgery. I have chosen a homograft and will be getting the minimally invasive surgery, so my recovery time will be more bearable. I just wanted to say thanks to all of the people who responded to my posts and to the doctors who gave me valuable information. I made several important decisions from the information I gathered from this forum. Wish me luck. I will let everyone know how I am doing.

HOPE EVERYTHING GOES WELL FOR YOU. I WAS SUPPOSED TO GO IN FOR MY AORTIC VALVE REPLACEMENT WITH A HOMOGRAFT BUT AT THE LAST MINUTE ON THE MORNING OF THE SURGERY IT WAS CANCELLED BECAUSE THE SURGEON WAS UNAVBLE TO GET A HOMOGRAFT. I WAS SENT HOME AND TOLD IT COULD BE ANYWHERE FROM A WEEK TO A YEAR DEPENDING ON AVAILABILITY. THIS IS THE MONTREAL HEART INSTITUTE NOT JUST ANY LITTLE LOCAL HOSPITAL. I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHAT IS THE PROTOCOL. DON'T THEY ORDER THESE VALVES BEFORE THE SURGERY IS SCHEDUALED. IT DOSN'T SEEM MY SURGEON HAS ALOT OF EXPERIENCE IN THIS....MARIO
