Kathleen,
I am a 33 year old male with a severe (4+) mitral valve prolapse.   On Nov. 30th I am going to have a Mitral Valve Repair (85% chance of repair) with Dr. Cosgrove doing the surgery.
The Cleveland Clinic is the number one ranked heart hospital in the country.  Dr. Cosgrove is the best mitral valve surgeon in this country and one of the two best in the world.   He pioneered valve repair in the late 80's and even the annuloplasty ring that is used in most repairs is named after the inventor:Dr.Cosgrove.   Then to top that about 2 1/2 years ago he invented the "keyhole" surgery known as minimally invasive surgery at the Cleveland Clinic.
What else is there to say....He's the man!
Kathleen, I would be happy to email with you, patient to patient and we can talk and compare notes.   My email address is ***@****.
Also you may want to look up this article out of the July 28, 1997 issue of US News & World Report about mini invasive surgery and Dr. Cosgrove.

Good luck to you!
