Dear DJ,
It sounds as though you have both mitralMitral regurgitation - chronic Mitral stenosis Mitral valve prolapse valve disease as well as ischemicHepatic ischemia Ischemic colitis Stroke Transient ischemic attack Transient ischemic attack (tia) heart disease ( associated with blockages in your arteries). It is often difficult for physicians to determine which of these is impacting on you decrease in heart function. It is important for you to have a catheterization to see if there are blockages that may be amenable to a stent or PTCA.
Did you have a catheterization prior to surgery? Sometimes in young patients, physicians forego a cath due to the very low likelihood of CAD.
