Hi, My name is Kate.My boyfriend was just recently over and he ended up sleeping over because of the snow.He laid on my chest and listened to my heart.A minute later I woke up feeling a very strong pound sensation in my chest.I asked my boyfriend if he heard any thing and he said that my heart was beating normal one min. and the next it was beating really fast.I told him it has happened before and then he called the hospital and they said that they would look me but said not to worry. The Doc. said it was normal.Thats all he told us!Then last night after me and my boyfriend went running we rested and watched TV.It happened again, execpt a little stronger. What is this it`s scaring me.I`m 26yrs. old.I`m very active. Please anybody help!

Dear Kate
It is difficult to know what caused your symptoms. You should make an appointment with a cardiologist. He will most likely have you wear a small portable machine (for a couple of days) that will record your heart rhythm and see if there is anything abnormal going on.
I hope this has been useful. I wish you the best of luck.
If you would like to make an appointment at the Cleveland Clinic Heart Center, please call 1-800-CCF-CARE or inquire online by using the Heart Center website at www.ccf.org/heartcenter.   The Heart Center website contains a directory of the cardiology staff that can be used to select the physician best suited to address your cardiac problem.
