My name is Dalvani Lima. I'm 25 and I live in Brazil. I went see a Cardiologist because I have (mildly) clubbed fingers since I was a little boy and someone told me it had to do with heart or lung diseases. I have had two electrocardiograms and two echocardiograms. Both echocardiograms showed absolutely normal results, but both  electrocardiograms showed high peaks on my heart's right ventricle. The axis was normal at 90 degrees. The doctor said It was an overload that could be caused by increased blood pressure in my lung artery. He mentioned PPH. After the echocardiograms, he said I was not ill, but since I have clubbed fingers and the abnormal ECGs, I could be on a path to PPH. Could that be true? Can clubbing be some kind of premonitory symptom? Can it start several years before any disease? What if you were born with it? I experience some events of shortness of breath, but they are always related to dust, cats, etc...Sometimes, after dinner, I have difficulty breathing in bed when lying. I have to sit, wait until I can "put out some gas" and then I can sleep normaly. I once had this uncomfortable burning, dull sensation in the upper right of my chest an front lower teeth that I could relieve while pressing the teeth, jaw or chest. It lasted for days... It would start shortly after getting up and remained the same all day long. It went away slowly one day and never came back.
Sorry for the long text and thaks for any help, Dalvani

Dear  Dalvani
Some people are just born with clubbed fingers; this tendency can also run in some families. If your echocardiograms were both completely normal, you do not have PPH. I doubt you are on the path to PPH; I am not sure why your cardiologist made such a statement, as doctors cannot even predict who will develop PPH.
