I also have hypothyroidism and take Synthroid for 7 years now. I get checked every 6 months because of heart palpitationsHeart palpitations. I want to be sure that I don't take too much. My mother suffers from the opposite condition too (Hyperthyroidism). I took Secral for years and it had no effect on the Thyroid medication at all. Just be sure to have your levels checked frequently at first to be sure that you are not taking too much. You will start to feel it if you are (sometimes). The only effect the Sectral had on me with any medication was that my fingers would turn purple in the cold. I also suffer from RA and that could be the reason too. I am off Sectral now because it no longer worked for my chronic PVC's, I am now trying Tenormin to see how that works. You should not have a problem with the two medications together... Take care
