Re: Suggested Cardiomyopathy treatment

My mother-in-law was reecently diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy. she is currently on Altace Rampiril (10mg/day). It has also been recommended to her that she take Palmacort (sp). I've been able to locate all sorts of info on Rampiril which is great. I don't think I have the spelling correct for Palmacort thought. The closest I could find was something mentioned in conjunction with Asthma.
Any ideas/suggestions on the proper spelling for palmacort? If you know what it is, can you explain more about what it will do, how it will help her condition and any possible side effects?
Thanks in advance.

Dear John, thank you for your question.  I have no idea what Palmacort is.  It doesn't sound like any medication I know of that is used to treat cardiomyopathy or congestive heart failure.  Perhaps you could speak with her physician to get a more accurate name.  If you do, then please write back and I'll be happy to help you find some information.
I hope you find this information useful.  Information provided in the heart forum is for general purposes only.  Only your physician can provide specific diagnoses and therapies. Please feel free to write back with additional questions.  Good luck!
