My husband's left side(ventricle)is enlarged. Two years ago on the echo it was size 60. This month it was size 62.5. He is athletic, slightly high blood pressure(for which he takes "Cozaar" daily) and normal weight. He has no other symptoms i.e. shortness of breath.
At what size, specifically, do most Drs. recommend surgery? I have heard one figure of when it grows to size 65 or larger.
Thank You.

I'm not entirely clear what your question pertains to.  What is the etiology of the enlargement?  Is this due to a heart valve problem?
