I've submitted questions here before - thanks in advance for the help.  I had an echocardiogram last month and was diagnosed with a thickened mitral valve.  Why am I (at age 29 - female - one child) just now starting to notice the skipped beats if this is indeed congenital?  Dr. thinks it is benign, will do a holter monitor in 2 weeks.  From the time my period starts then for about 10-12 days (onset of ovulation) I have no noticable skipped beats, then it builds until I'm noticing 25-50 in the days before my period.  Exercise doesn't bother it.  Is there anything else I should ask my Dr?  Can ovulation/hormone levels really play such a big part in it?  If I get pregnant again would the hormone levels lower my skipped beats?  Sorry for so many questions, I apprecite your input.  Allison

Oh yes - one more question - how many skipped beats (are these also called PVCs or PACS?) is within "normal range" in a 24 hr period?  Thanks
