Trisha-
I responded above that vitamins increase my palpitations.  But I did want
to also respond to you.  If you find out your palpitations are benign and
something you are just going to have to deal with - make sure to avoid
caffiene, alcohol, get enough sleep, exercise, reduce stress, and eat right.  Palpitations
are increased when you are sick and can increase due to hormone influxes.
If the palpitations are benign try not to panic every time you get one.
I have developed panic disorder due to having palpitations and I am working
very hard at disensitizing myself to situations that have caused me panic.
When I would have a palpitation I would panic and then just avoid those
situations all together.  Don't do that!  If you find out your palpitations
are benign remind yourself that while they can cause discomfort they are
not dangerous.
And honestly, the best remedy I have found is exercise.  Hiking is great!
Good luck and try to remain calm (it can do wonders for you!)
