Trisha-
I responded above that vitamins increase my palpitations.  But I did want
to also respond to you.  If you find out your palpitations are benign and
something you are just going to have to deal with - make sure to avoid
caffiene, alcohol, get enough sleep, exercise, reduce stress, and eat right.  Palpitations
are increased when you are sick and can increase due to hormone influxes.
Hello,
I responded to Ben a couple of days ago that vitamins also increase my palpitations-I wonder what the significance of that is?  I wish I knew exactly what vitamin was causing the palps because I have stopped taking vitamins altogether and I seem to get sick more often without them.  I too have developed anxiety attacks over this situation and have been trying to deal with them.  What is your strategy?
If the palpitations are benign try not to panic every time you get one.
I have developed panic disorder due to having palpitations and I am working
very hard at disensitizing myself to situations that have caused me panic.
When I would have a palpitation I would panic and then just avoid those
situations all together.  Don't do that!  If you find out your palpitations
are benign remind yourself that while they can cause discomfort they are
not dangerous.
And honestly, the best remedy I have found is exercise.  Hiking is great!
Good luck and try to remain calm (it can do wonders for you!)

Carla-
As for the vitamins, really the best way to get your necessary vitamins
is naturally - eat lots of fruits and vegetables (I've come to really
enjoy spinach and carrots - that's a big suprise!)  For your anxiety
attacks, try reading a book "Anxiety, Phobia & Panic" by Peurofy (sp.)  And
again, if your palpitations are benign, start reminding yourself that
while they are a discomfort they are not dangerous.  With a little work
you will find yourself enjoying a more active and fuller life.
Sometimes it is really scarey when your heart starts skipping all over the
place, but I had a doctor that was really funny and he used to tell me
that when my heart starting skipping to think that my heart was just
playing me some music and reminding me it was still there and still beating,.
Easy to say, I know, but it beats being terrified.  I wish you the best!
