The veins in my arms are easily accessible for blood donations, blood tests and the insertion of IV's.
Is it possible to determine in advance of cardiac catheterization whether the vein in the arm used for the procedure, when healed, will function as smoothly as it did originally?
If its usual for the vein to not return to its nearly normal state perhaps it would be better to opt for insertion in the groin.

Dear Sandra,
In general, cardiac catheterizations to image the coronary arteries are performed through arteries, rather than veins and should cause no problem to future blood draws and do not cause dysfunction of the veins.
I hope this has been useful. I wish you the best of luck. Feel free to write back.
