Dear TIM
First of all, you are should be commended for doing all the right things and you should continue. The fact that your HDL did not rise is not surprising. It is difficult to raise a low HDL level. A medication called Lopid has been used successfully in some patients with low LDL and HDL and raised the HDL level. This would be an option if your doctor felt that your overall risk profile warranted addition of a medication.
I hope this has been useful. I wish you the best of luck. Feel free to write back.
