I have been diagnosed with a sinus Tachycardia. I also have palpations that go along with the racing heart beat. I have had Echo and stress test and they are fine. I started on toporal 50 mg 6 months ago and am now down to 25 mg. My question is I been trying to walk a few miles a day and I notice that As I get going  my heart will start to skip beats and palpatate more and I find it difficult to catch my breath. I also feel slighty dizzy at times .
Can toporal cause systems like this when you exercise? Does it stop you from excelerating you heart to experience the benefits of exercise and for burning Calories?
Can talking this medication cause shortness of breath or dizziness?
Any idea if the exercise can bring on additional heart palps.
I have not worn a holter monitor but my other tests were fine.
I hope you can give some insight on this. I really want to exercise for all the benefits but I sometimes am afraid of what may happen and maybe my fear is unfounded.
Thank you so much for you time
Joy

Q: Can toporal cause systems like this when you exercise?
A: No, in general toprol slows down the heart and decreases palpitations.
Q: Does it stop you from excelerating you heart to experience the benefits of exercise and for burning Calories?
A: Yes, it does have a blunting effect on the heart rate which decreases some of the benefits of exercise.  You will still burn calories and derive benefit from exercise however.
Q: Can talking this medication cause shortness of breath or dizziness?
A: If the heart is slowed too much shortness of breath and/or dizziness can result.
