: Dear J.A.
I too take florinef for a problem different from yours.  While taking florief you must be sure to increase salt intake to 8-10g daily.  You should drink plenty of fluids or sports drinks.  If you do not increase fluids and salt intake then the florinef is unable to do its job.
The new medication you are refering to is midodrine (proamatine).  It constricts blood vessels thus allowing more blood to reach the brain and heart.  It does not come without side effects, but for some  it makes a remarkable change in their condition. You can find more about this drug at
http://www.rxmed.com/monographs/amatine.html
I hope this helps.
Dorothy
