I have always had a good pulse rate usually in the 80's.  I lkast two night I have gone to the blood pressure machine in the drugstore and my blood pressure was real good {135/80} but my pulse rate was around 45 to 50 bpm.  I feel good.  should I worry about this.  I do not smoke or drink.

Dear Phil,
Normal resting heart rate is between 50 and 90.  A heart rate of 45 is a bit on the low side.  Was this the machines reading (not always accurate) or your own?  Where was the pulse checked.  It may be that it was not actually that low.  Even if this was accurate and you are not having any symptoms I would not be overly concerned.  If you develop any symptoms (lightheadedness, passing out, fatigue) I would follow up with a doctor.  Hope this helps.
