Dear Shelly,
I am sorry that you have this recurrent problem that requires steroids, however at present
I know of no trials or up and coming drugs designed specifically for those patients with
this unfortunate problem (it is pretty uncommon as you may already know, i.e. the recurrent form
of pericarditis.)
I would suggest however that if not already done, have a second opinion for treatment by someone
highly skilled in immunology and rheumatology ( this is a rare physician and likely only to be found
at a major university center.)
