I am 32 yrs old.  On several occasions I have experienced a tightness
in the center of my chest which last a couple of days and then disappears.
It doesn't really hurt, but it is uncomfortable.  There is a history of
heart problems in my family.  Also, I was diagnosed several years ago as
having a heart murmur.  I know heart problems are serious business, but I
wanted to know if my problem warrants a reason to be concerned.  Thank you
for your response.

Dear Leean
The symptoms could represent something serious with your heart or your lungs. I think you should set up an appointment with your doctor. If the symptoms occur before that time, give your doctor a call. Do you know what was causing the heart murmur?
I hope this information is useful. Information provided in the heart forum is for general purposes only.  Only your physician can provided specific diagnoses and therapies.  Feel free to write back with further questions. Good luck!
If you would like to make an appointment at the Cleveland Clinic Heart Center, please call 1-800-CCF-CARE or inquire online by using the Heart Center website at www.ccf.org/heartcenter.   The Heart Center website contains a directory of the cardiology staff that can be used to select the physician best suited to address your cardiac problem.
