Recovery from Valve replacement

by Yatesy, Apr 13, 2008 11:55PM
Hi
I've recently found I have a bicuspid aorta and a valve dilated to 5.9 cms so I need valve replacement surgery. Has anyone had it? And what is the recovery time?

Hi Yatesy and welcome to the Heart Forums!

We have several members who have had valve surgery.  Do a search on "smiley2000;" she just had the surgery about 2 weeks ago and may be able to answer some of your questions.  Also,  in the search box above, type in "aortic valve replacement" for many discussions and relevant links.  Hope that helps!  We hope you'll visit often and keep us posted.  Please feel free to post on this thread or start a new one anytime.  We'll do our best to make you feel welcome and to help you along your journey.
