Referral information

by Tina__0__0, Jan 04, 1999 12:00AM

I am a nurse in Milwaukee and would like to bring a friend of mine to Cleveland for a cardiac evaluation. The purpose of the visit would be to evaluate his current therapies and develop a plan geared towards prevention of further disease. I have many ties in Cleveland but they are primarily in the neurosciences so I am asking for guidance re: who would be the most appropriate person at CCF to see--preferrably someone with a research interest in atherosclerosis.
  A brief history:  52 yo man 6' 190# non-smoker (quit smoking a pipe prior
                    to first surgery)
CABG Summer 1997, Sept. 1998 (several angioplasties
between the two surgeries)--angina but no documented MI
                    to my knowledge
                    Lipid profile wnl
                    Bp wnl
Meds: Zocor, ASA, B-complex, MVI, FESO4 (mild anemia),
                    Doxycycline (chronic Lyme Disease)
PMH: Lyme Disease, GI Bleed (? secondary to NSAID)
Please let me know if there is any other information that you would need to help guide us to the appropriate health-care professional.
  Thank you.

Dear Tina
There are a number of doctors he could see in our Preventive Cardiology section. You could make an appointment with Dr. Dennis Sprecher, the head of Preventive Cardiology at the phone number listed below.
I hope this is useful. Feel free to write back with further questions. Good luck.
Information provided here is of a general nature. Specific diagnoses and treatments can only be made by your doctor. If you would like to be seen at the Cleveland Clinic, please call 1-800-CCF-CARE for an appointment with a cardiologist.
