Regular chest pains?

Hi I am currently 19 years old male. I have been having chest pains for several years since I was very young. These chest pains are nothing major but its something I feel inside my chest. Somethings they are like nothing and I can just feel it doesnt hurt. At other times it can get worse and hurt a bit or very rarely hurt enough to make me put my hand on my chest. I have a strong heart disease history from my dad. He had a heart attack when he was 35 and since that he has been having all sort of heart problems even right now. I am the first child in the family.

I went to GP(doctor) 6 months from now, telling him about my chest pains and my family history but he wasn't seroius at all about my condition as Im very young. All he did was my blood test to check the amount of cholestrol in my blood that's about it which turned out to be normal. I mean the chest pains don't have any pattern sometimes I can have it 50 times a day and at other times I probably won't have it for weeks.

Can anyone suggest what kind of heart problem I might have and are there strong chances that it will develop later on as my ages increases? What can I do about it?
