Rhuematic fever

by katie238, Sep 30, 2009 03:51PM
27 years old I have just now been diagnosed with Scarlet Fever but believe this is the second time I have shown symptoms of this.  When I was 15 I had the same symptoms as this occurence where I had been sick with something that caused my tongue to peel, as well as my finger tips.  At that time I think that I had previously had a strep infection but am not sure as nothing was ever done with this. This was at the beginning of a period where i beccame very ill. I developed horrible headashes, joint pain throughout my body and particularly the back of my hips developed nodules that became very swollen.  After a year they finally told my I had fibromyalgia. After that year there would be occasional flair ups, some lasting a few months.  When I was 23 I became very ill again.  Same symptoms.  The doctors told me the same thing.  This has now been going on for four years.  This last week over the last month I have been experiencing the rash on my chest, neck, arms, and legs.  My finger tips started to peel for a couple of weeks, and then last week my tongue was peeling for only the second time in my life.  Like I said it was just diagnosed as Scarlet Fever but after reading up on that it lead me to rhuematic fever.  Its like reading my symptom list. Also I seem to get a slight fever everyday in the afternoon.  my face beccomes very flushed.  I'm wondering if it is possible that my original doctor when I was 15 missed this and it is in fact what I have been dealing with for the last 12 years?
