Right Ventricular Hypertrophy

Right Ventricular Hypertrophy

My son who is 7 years of age had a EKG done on 10-31-08 for a follow up for his heart murmur.  The EKG came back with a reading of "Probable Right Ventricular Hypertrophy."  He still has his murmur.  He is scheduled for a Echo the first week of January 2009.  Should I be concerned?  He has no symptoms of weakness, being tired, dizziness or any symptoms.  If he does have this conditon, what is the treatment, if any? Could it be due to his heart murmur?

This is not a diagnosis in itself simply an observation. There are many causes of this condition, some of which are serious and some of which aren't. You need the echocardiogram to tell you first if this is in fact accurate and secondly if it is present ( that is the right ventricular enlargment) the cause of this EKG finding.
