Risk of controlled blood pressure

I'm 22 and have controlled blood pressure with 3 pills a day.  I've had it for at least 7 years.  The past 5 have been contolled with medicine.  If blood pressure is controlled with medicine are there still risk created by the high blood pressure.  With it controlled with medicine, is it like not having high blood pressure?

You absolutely need to see a high blood pressure specialist. Depending on your community, this may be a cardiologist, an endocrinologist or a nephrologist (kidney doctor). You need to be evaluated for "secondary" forms of high blood pressure. This refers to a variety of treatable causes of high blood pressure, though the treatment may be surgical. It is important to identify if you have one of these rarer forms of high blood pressure (more often seen in young people), as the correct treatment can often cure the high blood pressure, but inappropriate treatment with only medications can still lead to long-term problems.
