Are
SVTParoxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (psvt)'s a symptom of HOCM or are the two unrelated. I have had an event monitor show
SVTParoxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (psvt)'s and have been diagnosed with HOCM.

Dear S.Jacobson,
Although they are two different mechanistic abnormalities (the HOCM is a mechanical problem and the
SVTParoxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (psvt) is an electrical problem in the heart), they are not completely unrelated in that patients with HOCM are known to have higher incidences of
arrhythmiasArrhythmias. You should be seeing two cardiologists, one for the HOCM (preferably a specialist) and one for the
SVTParoxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (psvt) if that is really what you have.
