SYMPTOMS

I was diagnosed may years ago with WPW.  This may or may not be relevant
to my current problem.  I have experienced several episodes of dizziness
recently.  Additionally my blood pressure is low or it's not able to be
measured. By low blood pressure I mean in the 85 to 105 range as a top
number and 60 to 75 as a bottom number.  The dizziness is impacting my
work life as I am often concerned that I will faint at any given moment.
This happened to me earlier today and when I tried to test my pressure, I
was unable to "get" a reading from the machine in our health unit.  I am
also fatigued most of the time.  I have also been developing a skin situation
where a round (circular) spot will develop on my body, (reddish in color)
then it will "dry over" and disappear after 2 or 3 weeks.  These spots do
not itch.  I'd appreciate any attention you could give this.  All symptoms
began about 6 months ago at approximately the same time.  It is for this
reason I thought they might be related.  One other item that may be
significant is that I tested positive on a skin test for TB, but negative on
the ex-ray.  I understand that this means I'be been exposed, but am not active.
I was not given the drugs because of my age.  I am a 39 year old woman.

Dear DENISE,
Thank you for your question.  I don't think the low BP has anything to do with the WPW or the positive TB skin test.  I does sound as if something is going on and I would definitely see you physician to obtain a complete exam and testing.  There are many different possibilities as to the source of your complaints including infections, neurologic conditions and heart problems.
I hope you find this information useful.  Information provided in the heart forum is for general purposes only.  Only your physician can provide specific diagnoses and therapies.  Please feel free to write back with additional questions.
