I have been on 200 mg of sectral daily for years.  Works well for me.  I have high blood prssure mvp and tachycardia.  I recently had a TSH bloodtest at 35.  I have an appointment in one week for followup.  Nurse said I have hypo thyroid.  My mother a registered nurse had hyperthyroidism and subsequently had the gland removed.  My question is (and the thought of this is making me nervous) if I take thyroid replacement how is that going to affect the beta blocker therapy.  I hate the thoughts of walking around with my heart pouding out of my chest again. Seems like the thyroid replacement will counteract the beta blocker.
Do you have an answer to this question.  I also take hctz 25 mg a day.
