Severe Respiratory problems

One of my relatives is suffering from a respiratory disease which was diagnosed as "SEVER PAH.
COR PULMONALE.
POST ASD CLOSURE."
by Dr. Gopala Krishna Gokhale who is a chief cardiologist.
The patient,Vijay Bhaskar, is a male and aged 34 years.

Case history : Patient presented with complaints of shortness of breath on and off for 2001 initially Grade I worsened to Grade II since 2-3 months. Cough since 2-3 months. 2 DE was done showed cor Pulmonale / PAH was referred for evaluation of possible lung transplant. Patient is post ASD closure 2001.
on examination:

Mild Cyanosis
RS Expiratory Wheeze
CVS - Flow murmurs + Loud / S2
HR - 74/min
BP - 110/70 mmHg
Chest x ray showed. Dil pulmonary artery and cardiomegaly

Hospital course : Patient was given symptomatic treatment. 2D echo done on 20/02/07 showed status post ASD closure; dilated right hgeart compressing LA/LV; severe PAH with PR and PV dysfunction;fair LV systolic function and IVC plethoric. In view of the severe PAH and cor pulmonale and RV dysfunction single lung transplant was not feasible. Patient required heart and lung transplantation.


This is the case history. I wish to know if there is any treatment for this disease at Brahmakalp hoispital.

That's a lot of information to be posting on an open board like this. There are privacy laws that need to be considered (HIPPA). Perhaps you meant to post on the other forum where a doctor answers.
