Sharp, jolting chest pain

Sharp, jolting chest pain

I am experiencing sharp, jolting pains in my lower left chest.  It feels somewhat like an electric shock right below my heart area.  I had been sick for 3-4 days with diarrhea(not vomiting) from some kind of stomach virus that has been going around.  The next day after feeling like I had recovered from the virus, I went on a deep sea fishing trip all day and did not drink any water.  After fishing, I went jet skiing and that is when I first experienced the sharp pain in the lower left of my chest.  Could this be due to the virus, dehydration or should I concern myself with a heart problem?  I did strain my left side somewhat with a very large fish on the fishing trip.  Is it possible that this pain could be muscular, or a pinched nerve?

billy,

It could be anything. You really do not provide enough information for me to know much about you other that it really must of been a big fish.

If you continue to have symptoms you should probably seek medical care.

good luck
