Sharp Chest Pain

by Kenneth, Dec 04, 1999 12:00AM
I am a realively healthy 38 year old male.  When I run each mourning about 10 minutes into my work out I will get a sharp pain just below my left nipple.  The pain will radiate half way around my back to just below my left shoulder blade.  After about a three minutes the pain will go away and not return.  Can you provide me with any causes??

There are several possible causes: muscle spasms, joint inflammation, acid reflux and coronary artery disease, to name a few.

You may benefit from consultation with a neurologist to see if you have any signs of nerve compression.

Age- 50
Excruciatin Pain thru upper torso eminating to Clavical, up the kneck(feels like an air block), down both arms simultaneously to the fingertips, debilitating for the course of 3-5 minutes 8- 10 times a day on a good day,30-50 times on a bad day. Happens while sitting, sleeping or after exercise. Am on AVIPRO for Blood Pressure, Negative on heart, Lung and Gall Bladder test. Tests show mild Hyatel Hernia. Antacids do nothing to relieve the Pain.Sleep with a Raised Matress, Sitting up, Flat, does not matter. Do show signs of Disc Damage and Artheritis from collar to belt. I just wanna get a good nights sleep.
