Shortness of breath and hypertension

For the past year or so I have somplained to my doctors about shortness of breath.  I have had stress test, stree echo. thallium stress, 3D echo and EKG.  They found nothing.  ThenI thought it might be my benicar so I stopped.  I go through phases where I feel better then bad again.

I have been on 10mg plus a water pill for 4 months and felt normal, now all the sudden I have this out of breath and heaviness in my chest feeling.  My blod pressure did take a dip into to 97/70 but I am pretty sure that's not causing me to feel this way since it also happens when my pressure is higher.  

I am just getting so frustrated and tired of not feeling well and nobody has any answers!

Have you seen a pulmonary doc for this?  That would be my suggestion.

No I haven't.  yikes!  that scares me but I wil mention this to my doctor this week

Yes a lung function test would be invaluable but as you go through phases of feeling ok, I wouldn't have thought this would be an issue. Sorry to ask, but are you a smoker by any chance?

I used to be but haven't smoked in 12 years

that's brilliant :) I stopped nearly 4 years ago and I still climb the walls when I see someone smoking. After 4 years I thought the yearning would go away.
