Shortness of breath

My 19 year old daughter (5'4" 120lbs) is short of breath while walking up a flight of steps. She gets light headed and dizzy when getting up from bending over, sees spots in her vision.  She recently had a dental surgery and they stopped the proceedure because her heart beat went up to 163 bpm. I have had her to two cardiologists they both say she is fine, offer no explanation and are starting to look at me like I am nuts.  I did persuade one of the doctors to order her a stress test she goes next week, for a Nuclear Stress test.  Where else do I go from here if that comes out ok?

My 22 year old daughter is having similar symptoms.  She has shortness of breath, rapid heart rate (100-135) and tires easily with physical exertion. Dr. says she's too young and healthy (normal blood work, etc) to be having these symptoms.  EKG was "borderline abnormal"...whatever that means.  One of her thyroid tests was a little off so a full thyroid panel was done.  We will have results tomorrow.  I personally feel that it has something to do with anxiety.  She is a Sr. in college and frets way too much about grades, etc.  Hope your daughter has a good outcome next week.  Please post the outcome of the stress test because I think that might be our next stop.  Best Wishes

Did anyone mention having her wear a heart monitor? There are two types - one she would wear for 24 hours and it records the whole time. The other is an event monitor - does a loop recording of about 3 minutes at a time. When she feels bad she just pushes the record button and it will save that 3 minute segment. Those are good for folks that don't get symptoms every day. But you do have to wear them for 2-4 weeks. Just something to consider. Then they could determine if there's a problem with her heart or if it's something else.
