Should I be concerned?

For the past few weeks I have been waking up in the morning with horrible pain in my fingers and hands. The pain is more in the pinky fingers, both of them. I sleep on my side with my hands tucked under my pillow every night. Well, one morning when I woke up I noticed my hands were asleep - thinking maybe that is why my hands and fingers hurt every morning. Should I be concerned about this? All I keep thinking is a blockage somewhere - gosh I hope not!

Hi, I have a simular problem because I sleep with my hands under my pillow or under my face. I notice that my hand and fingers hurt really bad when I have been sleeping on one side for a long time. I think my fingers get bent back when I'm sleeping. I have also had my hand fall asleep but I think it is just from sleeping on it. I wouldn't worry too much unless it happens when you are sure you haven't been lying on it or something.

Thank you so much for replying. Now I don't feel so worried knowing that this is normal. You are probably right about the way the hands could be laying under the pillow and how sometimes they could be bent back - this is true because I keep my fingers straight and I bet it's because they have been that way for maybe an hour or two. I guess I need to relax a bit - LOL.
