Sleep Apnea & Bradycardia

by PeterBlack, Jul 18, 2008 12:21PM
I have a pacemaker for my Bradycardia and a C-PAP machine for my Obstuctive Sleep Apnea.  I'm 50 and overwieght. I feel as if I'm oxygen deprived.  What would be signs that my conditions are getting worse?

Well if you feel foggy or have morning headaches or more fatigue your sleep apnea could be worse.  When was your last sleep study?  Have you gained significantly more weight since your last sleep study?  Then you may need another one.  You DO use the CPAP, correct? ;-)  Maybe your pressure needs to be bumped up a bit.  I would call your sleep guy or get one if you need to, and make an appointment.  If you really do not want to have a sleep study again, you could ask for an overnight oximetry done in  your own home, and that can see if your level drops, which would warrant a sleep study.
As far as the bradycardia, you should be getting regular checks by your EP.  Is your pulse normal now?
