Stent Implant
My husband received a stent implant 2 days ago and we have plans to travel by airplane in a week. Is this safe and possible to travel so soon after a stent implant?

Thank you

There are no restrictions on travel (air, car, or other means) after receiving a coronary stent.  The most important issues following stent implantation are being compliant with your cardiac medications (most notably, anti-platelet agents such as Clopidogrel (Plavix) or Prasugrel (Effient).  Careful attention should also be paid to any recurrence of previous symptoms (chest pain, etc) following any intra-coronary procedure.
