Stent or bypass surgery

I have recently read the latest study (news cited in the New England Journal of Medicine) suggesting that the landmark research completed in 2007 that should have changed the way doctors treat millions of heart patients with clogged arteries has had little effect--many still don't try medicines that sometimes eliminate the need for costly, invasive surgery. I had a triple bypass with miniscule symptons; no stroke or heart attack. Some have suggested that the narrowing of the arteries was attributed to a 'broken heart. Does anyone think that they have experienced a bypass or  stent placement without proper cause? I have a blog at www.allheartmatters.com.

Strangely enough, my triple bypass was full of disasters. I had 2xSVG and Lima. Within 3 months the 2xSVG died but nobody could understand why this caused such bad symptoms so an angiogram was performed. The Lima had been grafted directly onto the blockage in my LAD, the one that was supposed to be bypassed. Luckily, through angioplasty, a good Cardiologist managed to use the Lima as entry to my LAD and clear that half of the blockage, so the Lima could give a good feed.
I don't blame the Doctors at all, they are all human, and without them where would we be. There would be a lot more suffering and death. I greatly appreciate the time and effort given by all the Doctors on my heart because without them, I'm sure I would be dead by now. The far majority of Doctors don't go into the job for the money, they give up many years of their lives to study very hard to help people and save lives, to make a difference. They are compassionate people and they are on the front line, pushing the boundaries of medicine all the time. They are what I call the soldiers of human life.
