Different people seem to experience different symptoms. When I had 5 stents put into my left artery it gave some pinching type pains for about 3 months on and off. It wasn't what I would term as angina type pain, it was like the pain you sometimes get in your ribs when running, but it was deeper inside and less intense. I had the same thing when I had 2 stents put into my Circumflex artery.
Are your pains associated with exercise? if they just appear at any time, even at rest, then I would think this is quite a normal thing. The Cardiologist just told me to ensure that I drink plenty of fluids.

Hi ed34, thank you for this it is very much appreciated. Wow you did have a lot of stents put in, how are you feeling now? The pain is not too bad I was just a bit worried as never had this the last time I had stents put in. Yes I get the pain on and off too, and it is not accociated with exercise, it is a sharp pain so it could be as you described. Thanks again. Keep in touch.

I remember my Cardiologist telling me that it isn't uncommon for arteries to have spasms with angioplasty, but the most common is mild. It appears that the catheter kind of tickles the vessel and some patients can experience a pinching sensation for a few months until things settle down. Angioplasty has changed in the last few months, in the technique used. It was once believed that a long duration of balloon pressure was most important for good results, but now they have found short durations of higher pressure give much better results. This does somewhat traumatise the vessel more, but does give a much wider lumen.

Hi, I had medicated stents put in to block off and seal a hole in the Artery, the pain has lessened in the past few days. I have high Cholestral too and cannot take any medication for it, I am elergic to Statins, also on acid reflux medication, does it ever end,so just have to watch what I eat.
Thanks for answering.
