I am a 52 year old female that sustained a sternal fracture from a head-on collision Sept of 2009. It has been 4 months since the accident and 3 days ago while reaching my arms above my head to stretch I felt and heard a "pop" in my sternum. As the day went on the pain in my sternum increased and wrapped around to corresponding thoracic area. This has lasted for days. I am concerned about a nonunion. What diagnostics are needed.
This might be better for the "Experts" forum(?). Either way you would want to have it checked out since it got worse over time because it may not be just the sternum that's causing the problems. Odds are, at the very least, you'll get an X-ray or equivalent imaging.
