Strange blood pressure 110/30 - 120/40

by rob_cadbury, Mar 13, 2009 03:22PM
I have always had low blood pressure that ranged between 110/30 - 120/40, and am a bit confused, as with the practitioners that tested me. I'm not too sure how my systolic can be fine but my diastolic is half of what it should be? I do not believe I suffer from Hypotension. I have no pain of any sort. I am physically very fit and have a proper diet.
Anyone have any ideas?

My doctor told me that blood pressure changes throughout the day. When are you taking yours? Do you have an symptoms?

My blood pressure does change although that is both systolic and diastolic i believe. My problem is mainly the reduced diastolic pressure. This difference seems to remain constant and has been like that for a number of years. The difference in readings I get I mentioned before, 110/30 - 120/40. This range would be the fluctuation you mention. Just to be clear it should be 120/80.

What are your doctors saying about your low blood pressure?  When my mom was in the hospital her blood pressure was 90/40 and when it went down to 90/30 her liver started failing.  The nurses said it was because her blood pressure was too low and her heart was not able to pump blood to all her organs.  Question your doctors more about the low blood pressure.  It should be 120/72 to be perfect blood pressure.

They cannot explain it. My blood pressure is strange in the fact that it is not necessarily low. My systolic is still fine and I do not suffer from any low blood pressure symptoms. I will be going to a specialist soon to see if i can get an explanation.
