Strange pains in strange places

Strange pains in strange places

Hi, I just wrote in the other day regarding rt upper sternal pain and thanks for getting back so quickly. My next question is, what could cause generalized chest pain? I mean, like in my left breast (like an ache),the left side of my middle chest (like a discomfort), dull pains lasting longer than a minute. It's hard to describe but it's like a discomfort rather than a pain. I do have GERD but this doesn't feel like what I'm used to which is the sharp left sided pains. Again, I am 25, have had several ekgs,2echos,and 2 holter monitors in the past. But have not had any ekgs in about 5months and I do have mild mvp. Any idea what this could be? Oh, and I weigh 108lbs, I am 5ft3in and have no family history or heart disease or anything. Thanks

Dear Brandi,

this is most likely musculoskeletal pain or may represent chostochondritis ( irritation to the cartilage between your ribs).

All of these are generally relieved with tylenol or a nonsteroidal like motrin.
