A stroke is when part of the brain is deprived of oxygen, either from a clot in a blood vessel or from a rupture (aneurysm) of a blood vessel. A blow to the head can also cause a condition like a stroke. The risk factors for a stroke are the same as for heart disease.
A stroke will usually produce symptoms like, numbness and weakness on one side, confusion, slurred speach, sudden collapse from parlysis, blurred vision, and a severe headache. If you notice these symptoms in someone call 911 right away and keep the patinet calm and relaxed.
