Study being done on new Angioplasty Technique in TX (?)

  Just saw on the news that there is a new process being tested, I believe at a Texas facility.
  Supposedly, a substance is injected into the coronary arteries, that attaches to the plaque and loosens it, so that it can be removed like with a vacuum cleaner (my words).
  Where and how can one get more information on this study, the doctor speaking suggested that the advantage is that it removed, rather than flattened the plaque and made for less abrasion of the walls, and therefore a longer lasting cure.

Thank you for your question.  I'm not exactly sure of what your are talking about.  There is an experimental catheter called the TEC catheter that removes plaque.  I suspect the place you are thinking of is the Texas Heart Institute in Houston.  I would check with them for further information.  Good luck.
