Supravalvular Pulmonary Stenosis

Very recently I had angioplasty on my pulmonary artery, this was at a site of a previous banding which I had done 33 years ago. The band was removed when I had my VSD repaired 25 years ago.

As a result of the procedure, my right ventricle pressure has improved from:

75/7 mmHg to 45/10 mmHg

Already, I am not as breathless, but I still have much chest pain if I breath in too deeply.

Question: Is 45/10 still quite above "normal" and what further surgical options would be considered if at all to improve things still further?

The past 18 months has been an uphill struggle for me to get this far, convincing my family doctor was a struggle in itself. So, the more information I can seek out myself then the better it is for making progress. Thanks for your help.

Dear Angela,

This level is still  elevated, but has clearly improved.  It is important to be on an aggressive medical regimen to treat this.

I would recommend a second opinion if you have concerns.  I can recommend Dr. Murphy here at CCF for evaluation in our adult congenital clinic.
