Supraventricular extrasystole

by Ximp, Jun 15, 2007 12:00AM
I've been having supraventricular extrasystoles for about 5 years. Sometimes they appear very seldom, and sometimes they seem to never stop. I've been taking betablockers, but even so they never go away totally. When they are frequent, I feel a lot of anxiety. Does this ever go away? Will it damage my heart?

Hello,
People typically describe patterns of these symptoms waxing / waning with some times being difficult and others when they are no present.  It is like the common cold -- you don't know how good you feel normally until your nose gets stuffy.

They almost never damage your heart and from what you describe, it does not sound like it will every hurt your heart.

I hope this helps, thanks for posting.
