Symptom concerns

  I am a 35 year old female.  My father died at age 52 of a massive heart attack, his
  brother and father both died at early ages (even younger than my father) of heart attacks.  
  My sister has mitral valve prolapse (not really severe).  My question is this:
  I have "indegestion" quite often.  I experience numbness in my left arm and even
  down into my left leg.  I have pains in between my shoulders off and on, also, I have
  night sweats and recently have even been feeling more fatigue, almost like Ihave the
  flu, but no other flu like symptoms, just tired all the time.  I get short of breath easily and
  have been having to take naps during the day lately because I am so tired.  My doctor
  has not recoommended any tests for my heart and feels that I may be suffering from MS, although
  all of my nerological tests (MRI, nerve conduction studies) were negative.  Would I be justified in asking my
  doctor to schedule me for stress test or other heart tests?  Are my symptoms suggestive of a heart
  problem?

This is a difficult question. You mention your family history, but do not comment on absence or presence of other cardiac risk factors. All your symptoms could potentially be due to heart problems (except the need to sleep). It might be reasonable to get a stress test, if for no other reason than just to give you some reassurance.
