Symptoms

I'm a 38 year old female and for the last few months have been having some strange symptoms. My left shoulder aches, I have a terrible bloated/acid feeling in my stomach and a feeling that something just isn't right.  A couple of weeks ago I went for a stress test (treadmill), echocardiogram as well as had a holter monitor for 24 hours. Everything came back normal and the cardiologist I met with said my heart is fine.  Could something have been missed? Is there another test I should have to be sure? Could acid reflux cause these problems?  I have also recently had my cholesterol checked and it is well within normal range and my blood pressure is fairly consistent at 118/78, I'm also a non smoker though I am overweight.

As always, your input is greatly appreciated.

I think in view of the recent normal stress test and Holter monitor, and how atypical the symptoms are for coronary artery disease, that this is more likely suggestive of a digestive disorder. It may be related to an esophageal hernia or to severe GERD. Aspirin can certainly aggravate these symptoms. I suggest that you speak to your GP and that he perhaps orders either a Barium swallow or a CT scan of the chest.

In addition to the above, I forgot to mention I also take 81mg of aspirin everyday.

Thanks!

Maybe the aspirin is affecting your stomach? I also get pain on my stomach right where that bump is where your ribs come together on the lower chest bone (especially upper middle pain), the pain can go up to my left shoulder and even sometimes up the side of my neck and jaw. Now very comfortable. I was on Arthrotec and Mefenamic (at different times) and both really did a number on my stomach. Now I'm on iv morphine. From what I can remember also, when I took Codeine a long time ago, I would also get a lot of stomach pain or chest pain and get really hot in the face. Weird it don't happen with morphine.

I guess my post wasn't much help. Sorry. But just check about the aspirin.

I guess it is aspirin. It causes a lot of bloating of the stomach.
