Syncope in HOCM

Syncope in HOCM

I have HOCM. I deal with shortness of breath, chest pain, and have had three episodes of A-fib which were converted with Norpase. I just had an episode of near syncope for the first time where I got light-headed and dizzy and eventually nauseaus. Can you tell me what exactly causes this in my condition? Did I experience low blood pressure? It happened when I awoke and got out of bed. Can I expect the episodes to increase? What should I do when they happen? Should I see my doc right away even if I'm feeling OK now?

See you doctor right away.  Syncope in pts with HOCM is very concerning and may be a sign of a fast heart rhythm, or a sign of worsening obsrtuction associated with bradycardia.  Either way, you should see your doctor as soon as possibe.
