Dear Bob
I am not familiar with the book or the author. However, the medicine you are on is known to cause or aggravate certain types of arrhythmias (potentially life-threatening) in patients who also have structural heart disease. Young patients with normal hearts are usually OK with the medicine.
I hope this has been useful. I wish you the best of luck. Feel free to write back.
