Testing report

The report that I have from my recent cardiac cath begins with
this line underneath the Summary and again under the Ventriculography category...
Analysis of regional contractile function demonstrated severe posterobalsal hypokinesis.

Would you please reiterate in clear English?

Mid RCA: There was a 100% stenosis: good collateral blood supply to the distal myocardium.

Does that mean that the heart muscle was still getting adequate blood supply DESPITE 100% stenosis (closure) in the right coronary artery???? Seems odd & if so how can that be???

The first part says that there was an area of your heart that did not contract well, as well as it should.  this could mean a small area.  This can be due to a prior heart attack, but ask your physician.  The second part means that despite the fact that there was a total blockage, that blood vessels have developed around that area, supplying good blood to the heart muscle.  This is common and a desirable finding for those with coronary artery disease.  It's the folks that don't develop collaterals that die young from heart attacks!
