Thalium stress test

Can someone give me a brief discription of a thalium stress test
and its purpose. My wife recently had a normal exercise test after what appeared to be a heart attack or angina. The results at first glance appeared normal but further examination of the results has prompted the consultant to go for a thalium stress test.

Thanks.

Isn't Thalium a heavy metal and a carcenogen? How many thalium stress tests can a person undergo before there is a risk of contracting cancer?

A thallium stress test is like the stress test she just had, except it also involves taking pictures of the heart with a nuclear camera. It is more sensitive at detecting heart artery problems than a regular stress test and seems like a reasonable next step.
